Palliative Care

Covering aspects of caring for the terminally ill has implications for the service user, their family and the support carers, this full day course aims to give an understanding of terminal illness, methods of pain relief and palliative care. 

The mental state of the service user is as important as their physical care and various caring methods are introduced including alternative therapies.

  • Types of cancer, chemotherapy and radiotherapy

  • Motor neurone disease

  • Pain control

  • Nutritional needs

  • Answering difficult questions

  • Update on HIV and AIDS
