Moving and
Handling
Moving and handling injuries account
for the highest proportion of absence among health and social care
staff. Good training is essential to protect staff and service
users from injury and safeguard your business.
This half day course covers the
theory and practice of safe manual handling. All staff who may be
required to move a service user should attend this course.
You need to be physically fit to attend the course:
this course is not suitable for trainees with medical problems that
could be exacerbated by moving and handling. Sensible shoes and
trousers should be worn. You will be asked to sign a disclaimer on
the day. Please call us if you have any doubts or queries.
This course does not include hoist training (usually
available by supplier). However, Learn to Care will train your
staff using
your
hoist during in house training sessions.
